.mov video sound out of sync with picture
.mov videos have their soundtrack out of sync with the video when played in ffDiaporama. The sound occurs before the corresponding video. The problem is worse in 1.5 than 1.6 beta 7, but even with the latest relase the sound occurs about 0.5 seconds before it should.

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
I've created three files: clap.ffd, clap.mov, and clap.mp4. They are available for download at
http://www.westmont.edu/~howell/ffDiaporama/
The .mp4 file shows a person clapping twice, with the sound and video in sync. The .ffd file exhibits the delay, as does the .mp4 file that was rendered via ffDiaporama.

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
Regarding my previous message, I meant to say that the .mov file (not the .mp4 file) shows the sound and video in sync.

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
Greetings,
In case you have trouble accessing the files via the above server (westmont.edu) they can also be found on Dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bhib515vzz1ftsp/WssENra6bo
By way of reminder:
--the .mov file (original) has the sound and video in sync
--the .mp4 file (rendered via ffDiaporama) exhibits the delay
--the .ffd file to which the .mov file was added also shows the delay
I realize you don't need the .ffd file, and that you'd have to reload the .mov file in ffDiaporama in any case.
Any progress yet? I'm thinking it may have something to do with the slide transition mechanisms, but that's just a wild guess.

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
Hi,
first thing, I love ffDiaporama. Great Work!! Thanks for such a great tool.
I've the same Problem as rwh I've filmed a movie with canon 60d dslr this is a .mov file with h.264 codec(from canon specs: MOV Video: H.264, Sound: Linear PCM) in 1.920 x 1.080. After converting it with ffDiaporama I've also a delay in the sound.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10.
I've a little time problem. The ffDiaporama movie that I want to create is needed for the weekend. I know you have a lot of work to do, but is there a chance that there will be a fix in the next days?
To solve the problem, tonight i want to try to convert the mov file in other format and then converting it with ffDiaporama, would that work? I would try to convert it to avi(divx,mp3) or do you have other suggestions?
Thx and Regards,
macenb98

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
Hi
That's very strange ... i made a lot of projects with video produced by canon camera and I never had problems
Maybe the error is in the generation and not during playback
What have you selected for rendering ?
Did you made test with a 25 fps mode for rendering ?

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
I making a ffdiaporama movie that contains pictures and movies from different cameras, some from canon in .mov format some from other cameras in .avi format. After the rendering with ffDiaporama the result file has that sound delay in parts from the .mov files in the parts of the .avi files from the other cameras there is no sound delay. So I think there is a rendering problem of ffDiaporama especially with .mov files. Maybe the high resolution or the h.264 codec is the problem.

Re: .mov video sound out of sync with picture
Hi.
The following solution worked for me:
I converted the canon .mov(1920x1080, h.264, pcm) files with HandBrake to .m4v(mpeg4, mp3) files, than added to ffdiaporama and converted there to .avi(DVD 720x576 25fps, divx/xvid/mpeg4, mp3). Now there is no sound delay anymore.
But the problem with the .mov files is still there and it would be nice if you could fix that if you have time for it.
I can send you example files too, if needed.
Thx,
m
