[ffDiaporama 2.1, Ubu 14.04] Segmentation fault when adding AVI files

When adding an AVI file (made by my FinePix S4800 camera) ffDiaporama crash with a segmentation fault.

Following are the data from my system. Please let me know how to better debug it or which video format it is known to be safe to work with, so I can convert my videos before using them in ffDiaporama.

ffDiaporama:
- version 2.1 (20140209)
- packeage from repository ppa:ffdiaporamateam/stable
OS:
- Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit
Video File:
- Avi file 1280x720 (720p - 16:9)-mjpeg-und(pcm-S16le-Stereo-S16-1411Kb/s-44.1Khz)
- Size doesn't matter (tried small few seconds/few Mb files)

Actually I have the segmentation fault on any video that I try to add, including the ones in the tutorial..

Just tried the 1.5 included in Ubuntu default repositories and it's working fine.. very quick import of the file, while in the 2.1 it freeze a few seconds, then a window starts to pop-up on the centre of the screen and then boom, it crash :-| I hope I am not loosing too much with the 1.5.

Same result with Mint 17 and last stable version 2.1
I also tried with development 2.2. Also, installed ffmpeg-real 2.4.x, same results.

Any news about this bug? Tried to downgrade to 1.5 but it doesn't read project files created with 2.1.

Tried deleting config directory. Problem remains. Tried installing ffmpeg from Jon Severinsson's PPA. Same problem. Using Linux Mint 17.
