This is the last version that still worked on Windows/XP.
I guess you can not use a newer OS?
Have you tried reinstalling?

2. Go to "Settings" and press the button "Check Configuration". All items should be marked with a green dot. Report results.

Update / install drivers for the CPU and GPU. Maybe your problem is related to outdated or are likely missing drivers.
