Best video format to add in the movie/photo clip
Hi,
What's the best format to convert video's (from my Panasonic SDR-H40 camcorder) to?
I use OpenShot under Linux and can convert video's into these formats:
AVI (h.264)
AVI (mpeg2)
AVI (mpeg4)
FLV (h.264)
MOV (h.264)
MOV(mpeg4)
MP4(Xvid)
MP4(h.264)
MP4(mpeg4)
MPEG (mpeg2)
Ogg (Theora/flac)
Ogg (Theora/Vorbis)
WEBM (vpx)
Which is the best?
Video resolution is:
704x576
Framerate:
50
Codec:
MPEG-1/2 Video (mpgv)
The file is standard saved as a .mod on the camcorder itself.
Thanks!

Re: Best video format to add in the movie/photo clip
Hi
Why do you want to convert them ?
Could you send me, using drop box or equivalent, a video from your camcorder (<1mn) so I could add direct support to this format ?

Re: Best video format to add in the movie/photo clip
Hello
Thank you for the sample video. In fact it have the same properties as a .mts video.
I add the support of this kind of video into the next devel version so either you wait for the next devel or you renamed your videos using .mts extension pending next publication.

As you can see the file is added but when playing it is all chunky and stuff.

Why is that? I renamed the file from .mod to .mts.

This video is interlaced.
Check in the video edit dialog if the deinterlace filter is activated.

Re: Best video format to add in the movie/photo clip
You don't have to convert it.
You add the video in your slide, then double click the slide and then double click the video object.
In this dialog box, you have a check box to activate the deinterlace filter for the video
