Help! Black slides in ffDiaporama v1.6 23June2013

I'm running the v1.6 23June2013 stable release, and am less than 24 hours from presenting my slide show.  I compiled it and a bunch of my pictures aren't showing up.  There's sound, but just a black screen.  Based on a cursory examination, it appears that the larger .jpg files are the ones not getting rendered.  Any suggestions?

I should add that I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (32 bit) on an Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 with 2GB RAM.  I'm trying breaking my show into parts and closing as many other applications as I can, and will report what I find.

Hello

Yes, the image unread problem is linked to memory.

The best thing to do is to minimize the size of the allocated memory cache (I suggest you to select 256MB for that in the option box).

Another good solution is to divide the project into small pieces, that you started to do.

After that, you must switch to 64bit (which is already possible with the current version under development)

Re: Help! Black slides in ffDiaporama v1.6 23June2013

It looks like memory was the issue.  I rebooted my computer and didn't open anything except ffDiapora.  I recompiled the slide show and everything shows up now.  I'm relieved to have my slideshow working, but a little disturbed that the program can silently omit slides...

"omit slides"

What would you said about this?

Re: Help! Black slides in ffDiaporama v1.6 23June2013

By "omit slides", I just mean that the image is omitted (i.e. it's black).  It's just a little disturbing to me that this can happen without producing an error.  I certainly understand that a lack of available memory can cause problems for a memory-intensive application such as this, but there should be an error or warning or something.

(Note: I'm speaking from a user's point-of-view here.  It may be that the problem is happening inside of a library or other software outside of the developers' control, and there is no way to prevent or possibly even detect the problem.  Still, for a user, this kind of behavior doesn't inspire confidence in ffDiaporama.)

Re: Help! Black slides in ffDiaporama v1.6 23June2013

Hello

This morning I released a new "devel" version of future ffDiaporama 1.7.

This version fixes many problems.

Can you try it?
