Windows version of 1.6 ffdiaporama
project is a mix of photographs and camera video
I have deleted the imported sound completely (some sound still exists which is embedded in a video clips)
Saved the project
selected render from the render tab and selected OK
ffdiaporama stays stable but there is no render progress screen and in the location of the folder where the rendered video is to be saved there is an 8k dot tmp.WAV file

Re: rendering not working afher upgrade to dev version from 26 jan 2013

Second report
Windows version of ffdiaporama 1.6
Went back to to main program and reselected render
On the render page I removed the tick from the "include sound in the video" and the render process appears to start correctly but I have to go out so I don't know if a full render is possible
I will try again in the morning for a full render without sound

As agreed I re-ran the render
The video consists of photographs and live video of my family
I removed the audio track completely but the video clips do contain audio
I selected render and un-ticked the box “include sound in the video" and the render process starts correctly and appears to complete
I then replayed the rendered video and all works correctly whilst viewing rendered photographs until the part which shows the video with its inbuilt sound where the rendered video terminates as end of video (not an abnormal termination). I attribute this to a failure to complete the video render even though it appeared to render correctly

Hello Chrishay

I'm completely redoing the encoding engine and I still have some problems.
This weekend I will publish a new devel a bit more advanced.
You will be able to try again?

By Chris Hay - Monday 4th February
I have downloaded and installed the re-worked version of 1.6
I took my original collection of photos and home video and added back in the sound and rendered to Lossless and eventually the program went all the way through the render process.
The process starts and the progress bars move very quickly end to end and then the program appears to stop for something close to a minute.
Windows then reports “program not responding” but I didn’t quit and then the program continues the normal render process and goes through to the end.
When it completed I played back the Lossless MKV file and the first minute shows quite heavy pixilation spoiling the show so I re-ran the whole process and overwrote the first MKV file and the same thing happens with the pixilation in almost exactly the same place on the screen
Render parameters show
Format MKV
Video = x264 lossless 1920 x 1080
Audio = FLAC

Activate de-interlace filter was checked so I unchecked it saved and re-selected it
I re-rendered the video using a smartphone setting for a windows 7 Netbook/NetPC at 720p and it rendered perfectly
I ran another render using The previous MKV settings and pixilation was back
Perhaps of interest (1) as the render started, within about 5 to 10 seconds my hard drive went into major activity for approx 90 seconds and then proceeded to render as normal
Perhaps of interest (2) is that the render process appears to take much longer than in version 1.5
