Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
a new year, a new version, a new problem.
I've updated from packman to the new ffmpeg version 1.1 on opensuse 12.2 (I think I was a little bit crazy).
With the new devel-Version of your great program I got trouble with any sound in any video format.
In Terminal mode I got the message that the Audio conversion failed.
I think the ffmpeg-developer had changed a little bit at their input options.
Pherhaps you have an Idea?
Greetings
Norbert

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello Norbert
For some time I started to redo my encoding engine.
In the next devel, the audio part will be redone.
Wait a few hours and retest with the devel I publish this week-end.

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Helo,
the problem is still actual.
The message ist still standig, that the Audio conversion failed. I have paste a small part of the logfile.
Thats I think only a problem with the new 1.1 version of ffmpeg.

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
Thanks, I will try it. There is also movement at packman, who want to search for a solution for this problem this is breaking functionality for many other project with ffmpeg 1.1.
Temporarily they want to downgrade to 1.0.1. So if your solution is not a small workaround wait - if it is a great thing do it.... ;-))

Hello,
you are very busy with this project.
I've tested the version 363. The sound now will be converted but it sounds terrible. Is there any filter active? It is as if one is in a large hall.

Hello,
in the meantime packman has downgraded back to ffmpeg 1.0.1. So with the last version everything is OK except the soundexport only.
Now I have loaded the last version, and with the downgraded ffmpeg version I got compiling errors like this:

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello Dominique,
Packman has downgraded to ffmpeg 1.1 and updated to 1.0.4. In the vlc repository I also found a version with number 1.0.1.
So since the rev363 I can't compile with "actual" versions for opensuse your great program. The problem is still the same like I wrote before.
Do you have any suggestions for testing?
Greetings

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
everywhere I searched there are actual only repositories with ffmpegversion <1.1 for opensuse.
I think its a problem in libavresample. There could be changes in the definition of some variables between 1.0.x and 1.1.x.

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
Congratulation!
It compiles and run.
There's only a smal problem, but I think it's a problem of ffmpeg. Since packman has down/updated to 1.0.4 there is no support of aac anymore.
Great

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello again,
sorry the smal problem is not a ffmpeg problem. With version 362 it makes an mp4-file with aac-audio, with version 368 not.
In a terminal running this error is shown
[18:32:41.519:INFORMATION] Sound hinzufügen
[18:32:41.520:ERROR] Codec is experimental but experimental codecs are not enabled, try -strict -2

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello Norbert
Do you have libvo_aacenc installed on your computer?
Could you search for this package on packman?
Could you try this : In engine\_EncodeVideo.cpp file
Search this line (near line 644): } else if (Codec->id==AV_CODEC_ID_AAC) {
Add this after: AudioStream->codec->strict_std_compliance = FF_COMPLIANCE_EXPERIMENTAL;

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
thanks for your quick answer.
libvo_aaenc isn't installed (and for compiling not necessary). packman has it in the reps.
After adding "AudioStream->codec->strict_std_compliance = FF_COMPLIANCE_EXPERIMENTAL;" and compiling and running there is a new error message:
[16:21:31.326:INFORMATION] Sound hinzufügen
[16:21:31.326:ERROR] Specified sample_fmt is not supported.
[16:21:31.326:ERROR] EncodeVideo-OpenAudioStream: avcodec_open2() failed: Das Argument ist ungültig

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello Dominique,
in the meantime I'va updated to opensuse 12.3. But in a second partitition 12.2 is sleeping for some tests.
So, your actual version is running...but...
Compiling is ok
Working progress is ok
Quality of video is ok
sound is NOT ok
When I export the soundtrack even also in the video there is a pulse on the sound. Whenyou have a silent slow music you can here a pulsate on the sound.
Pehrhaps you can confirm it.
Thanks and greetings

Hello Norbert
I modify this morning the package for openSUSE. Now there are packages for version 12.2 and 12.3.
To limit space used on launchpad, I cut package into 2 parts (I hope users will not be afraid by that)
Could you test them ?
For the pulsate on sound, yes, I think I have a problem to solve and it appears in all plateforms.

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
Hello,
thanks for your fast request.
The problem is still the same. But I've found that this is a problem with the volume of the sound. Inserting a soundfile and stay the volume at 100% there is no pulse. Reducing the volume then you get the pulse. On my olde Project file I've reduced the Soundvolume to 40%, and at new tests there were no problem.
Greetings

Re: Audio conversion failed on opensuse12.2 with new ffmpeg 1.1
And another bug is coming out now.
The timesynchronisation of sound an pictures didn't work.
In an mp4 video the next sound should begin at picture 85 on time 10:14 whre it is linked. But it begins at 9:40 at picture 80!
