problems with hd generation
Dear all,
I am new to ffDiagporama, but so far I really like what I see. I'm trying to create a slideshow (pictures with Ken-Burns effect + music) for a birthday; however, I have problems rendering the video in hd.
Please have a look at this 30seconds file:
http://www.science.unitn.it/~dietrich/1 … aac128.flv
(Flash 2008, PAL, 1080p - 1920x1080,25FFP, Phone quality bit rate 2000k, aac-lc 128k/s)
Every time I choose 720p or 1080p, the Ken Burns effect is rendered in a weired way; you can observe this for the first and second slide:
Onethe first slide, one third of the photo is suddenly disappearing. On the second slide, the left half of the photo comes from the right... *?*
At the moment, I am using the *same* ffDiaporama project and try different options to render it. The output really is different: Whenever I have chosen an image format equal / better than SD/DVD, the Ken Burns effect goes wrong. This does not happen with, for example, VGA.
Any help is appreciated -- cheers,
Heiko
PS: A related question; pn my computer the preview is more or less not useable because it's too slaggy. Can this be improved?

Re: problems with hd generation
Hello
Without seeing the project, it is difficult to give the correct diagnostic.
Nevertheless, I am going to try to help you because, may be you don't use ffdiaporama correctly.
To make a good effect :
1-In the slide dialog, ensure geometry of the image is defined to a fixed geometry, for example to project geometry or to image geometry
2-Enlarge the image to it fit the hole screen (If it is not already the case)
3-Double click on the image to open the image correction dialog
4-Set framing to the beginning of the effect you want and close image correction dialog
5-Add a shot
6-Double click on the image to re-open the image correction dialog
7-Set framing to the end of the effect you want and close image correction dialog
8-Close slide dialog
And normally, you will have a correct effect
Regarding your question about performance
Witch operating system are you using ?
Do you have increase the amount of cache memory in option dialog ?

Re: problems with hd generation
Thank you very much for the quick and helpful reply!
I didn't fix the image geometry; now everything works correctly! Even the preview works much better!
Btw, I am using Xubuntu 12.04 with 4-8GB RAM; I've set the cache parameter to 2GB.
Thanks again!!!
