[solved] Images missing / Black screen instead

Hello,

I created a project with 260 images.
But after rendering the diashow, a few files are missing
in the show (about five).
The screen is black during the configured amount of seconds,
but after that the show goes on.

All of the pictures are saved in the same directory.

It happened while encoding with DivX and Mpeg2.

Hi,

I get a "FFMPEG Error".
By the way I want to give you a few more informations:
The pictures come from different cameras:
- Canon PowerShot
- iPhone 4s
- Nokia N8
(Maybe you need examples?)

The funny thing is, that it sometimes works, sometimes not..

I also tried it on a different pc with Windows XP. The same problem.

DivX and MPEG2

Could you try this version : ffDiaporama-1.2 devel 020120123_setup.exe
It will fix : <timestamp is deprecated, set the 'creation_time' metadata tag instead.> and <No '=' character in metadata string .>
So you will be able to render video

For these errors : <Truncating packet of size ...> and <error in av_read_frame> in the first part of the log, they are sounds error.

If the problem persist with this new version, i will ask you for you send me files from your camera.

Hello,
I tried a view things like changing the background image and rendering the video without audio.
But unfortunately it doesn't work :-(

So what can I do to help you solving the problem?

Maybe you could compile a version with a logfile for the debug messages..
The buffer of the debug windows seems to be to small..

I think ffdiaporama is so good, that I would even post the whole thing on my hidrive
for you (personally).

This week-end I publish the beta 1 with a lot of bug fix
Look at the download page tomorrow

For the log window, i think that if you change settings for terminal console, it will apply also for this window (it's a standard windows cmd console)

I tried the beta1(20120128) yesterday.
Unfortunately things got worse :-(

Rendering audio took a very long time and only one core has been used.

Lot's of Pictures are missing. Only the Background-Image shows up.
And you can see a short flickering of the animation.

I have lots of messages like that in the log-window:

Hi,

ffDiaporama-1.2 beta 2 (20120130)

now it becomes really interesting:
The upper third of the screen remains black
and the lower third of the image is missing.
So you can only see a small part of the image :-(

No, your project file is good but I'm sorry but i made a mistake in this beta, so an error occur with re-framing images (i'm not feeling too good actually !)

I publish a patch yesterday evening in the follow the development page of the web site which fix it. Please, try it.

I think I will publish a third beta before the end of this week with other bug fix.

I also tried Beta 3.
Works very well!

There's one thing different when it comes to the mpeg2-format:
It's not compatible to DVDStyler any more.

But I can recode the file with avidemux..

mpeg Video, PAL, 720x576, Bitrate 2000k, mpeg Audio, 128k.

DVDstyler say: Invalid Data found while processing input.
After recoding with avidemux, it worked.

But don't worry. I needed it only once for my grandparents,
they own a very old dvd-player ;-)

Is the images missing are from video only or also from photo ?
If it's from video only :
- which format are source video ?
- is it always latest image(s) which are missing ?
- do you have the same problem if you cut video (removing latest second for example) ? (Sometimes ffD bad calculation the duration and proposes more frame than it really exists there !)

it's only photos that are missing. Nothing else.
I spread a few short videos between the photos,
but they all render perfectly..

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem.

Tried Beta3 which also does create a movie (.mp4) with black slides in it. When I redo it, the black slides sometimes appear in another position.

Hi

I'm very sorry, but this version does not really solve the problem in my case: My project consists of a total of 437 slides (432 pictures and 5 movies) and music from beginning to end.
The new version converts the audio track completely (according to the display) and then converts the first 110 slides. After that ffDiaporama is automatically interrupted.
The resulting movie is ok up to slide 110.

- there is no error message shown. the program just disappears from screen. it is automatically terminated.
- the duration of the project is shown as 00:26:04.006, position of slide 110 is shown as 00:07:06.500
- slide 110 is a simple picture as many others in the project. no modification. slides before are not exciting either. slide 111 has a titel, as many others before.
- preview seems to work correctly.
